LEARN TO SAIL IN 3 LEVELS
These adult courses are for adults aged 18+.
Our sailing sessions are run by Royal Yachting Association-qualified instructors using official course frameworks.
Many adults much prefer our option of 1:1 tuition that can generally be scheduled at a time to suit. If however you would still like to join a group based course, rest reassured we keep our course participant numbers low.
At a ratio of 1:3 instructor/trainee, we ensure you get the most out of your course and time on the water. The majority of watersports centres run courses on 1:6 instructor/trainee ratios.
The boat you’ll learn is the Topper Topaz Uno; supplied by Ashford-based and internationally-acclaimed Topper Sailing.
Our water quality is tested every month and always returns an ‘outstanding’ result, being only one grade off drinking water!

LEVEL 1 - "START SAILING"
An introduction to sailing dinghies for complete beginners, covering everything you need to know to get afloat under supervision.
If you are new to sailing then RYA Level 1 is the introductory course for you. You will be using a Topper Topaz which is ideal for those new to sailing as they offer great stability and space to move in.
This is a course for complete beginners. Learn how to sail in all directions and awareness of launching and recovery.
Duration: 2 days of private tuition (16 hours)

LEVEL 2 - "BASIC SKILLS"
Build your confidence and develop your skills. By the end of this course you’ll be a competent sailor in light winds.
You’ll cover rigging, launching and building confidence sailing in all directions, capsize recovery, and essential safety knowledge.
Duration: 2 days of private tuition (16 hours)
Cost: £255 per person
STAGE 3 - "BETTER SAILING"
Improve your sailing consolidating skills and trying new ones in a variety of conditions.
Further coaching to consolidate the skills learned so far. Short taster sessions from the advanced modules such as Day Sailing and Seamanship skills.
